The Products

The ABMI product line incorporates many competitive advantages, including enhanced emboli counting, solid/gas differentiation, signal restoration and emboli visualization technologies. The next significant step will be the developement of emboli size categorisation, providing ABMI with a clear, competitive edge in neuromonitoring market place.

Products for quick and efficient emboli detection and solid/gas classification

The Embol- STATION®1.2

The Embol-STATION® is an expert system that detects, counts and identifies brain emboli (as solid or gaseous), based on advanced signal processing. The latter is performed on the raw Doppler signal for middle cerebral artery (MCA) blood flow.

The Embol-STATION® performs remote, off-line analysis and provides caregivers with precisely compiled information and statistics on embolization rates and emboli types— solid particles or gas bubbles.

The Embol-STATION® software runs on off-the-shelf PCs or laptops.

The Embol-ADD®

The Embol-ADD®, which plugs into existing TCD hardware (such as in hospitals) uses the "Doppler signal" produced by TCD machines, the so-called "Doppler audio signal," to detect, count and identify brain emboli (as solid or gaseous) in real time.
The Embol-ADD® software runs on off-the-shelf PCs or laptops. The TCD audio output (e.g. the headphones stereo jack plug) is connected to the PC or laptop sound card during real-time operation.

Graphics displays

Three graphics displays are available on the Embol-STATION®:

1. A file selection display (shown below) where the user selects data files for analysis and sets analysis features.

2. An analysis display (shown below) which contains:

3. A set of details windows (shown below) that can be used to review signals after analysis, allowing the clinician to double-check the automatic classification of HITS, to listen to the Doppler sound, and to modify, if necessary, the automatic classification of MES into artifacts, gaseous, or solid. For each HITS (artefacts and MES), a distinct details window shows the raw Doppler signals, the power spectra, detailed FFTs and CWTs for both depth gates.

Report generation

A report file is automatically generated after each analysis. The report lists all the embolic events with their classification and contains the values of some relevant parameters (e.g. frequency, power), and can easily be printed.
