About ABMI > Services
ABMI's in vitro phantom has been developed for internal research purposes. As one cannot inject solid emboli to a human (as this would kill him…), we have conceived and constructed a conceptually innovative system for imitating the cerebral blood flow and simulating the ultrasound backscatter produced by solid or gaseous emboli.
This in vitro system has been used internally in a first phase, e.g. for determining an algorithm to estimate the sizes of emboli.
Similar or custom systems can be built, based on our large experience in this domain.
Detailed publications and user's manuals, as well as data collections, are available.
